Description
Beta vulgaris
This multicoloured spinach or chard, will add a new dimension of colour to your garden or pots. The stems and roots have colours ranging from deep red, pink, light yellow and vibrant yellows. They have thinner stems and smaller leaves than traditional silverbeet. Kids love them.
Growing tip: Plant in a fertile soil with adequate moisture. May be grown in pots or in the garden. Individual leaves or the whole plant can be harvested.
Position: Full sun. They will tolerate some shade in summer.
Spacing: 30cm
Harvest: 6 weeks after planting.
